Main Responsibilities
- Wildlife Management: Implement and oversee programs for the protection and conservation of wildlife habitats and species within designated areas.
- Fisheries Management: Develop strategies to sustainably manage fisheries resources, including monitoring fish populations, enforcing regulations, and promoting responsible fishing practices.
- Community Engagement: Collaborate with local communities, stakeholders, and relevant agencies to raise awareness about conservation issues and foster community participation in conservation efforts.
- Enforcement: Enforce wildlife and fisheries regulations, investigate violations, and take appropriate legal actions when necessary to ensure compliance.
- Research and Monitoring: Conduct research projects to assess the status of wildlife and fisheries resources, analyze data, and make recommendations for conservation and management strategies.
- Education and Outreach: Organize educational programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns to educate the public about the importance of wildlife and fisheries conservation.
- Policy Development: Provide input and expertise to inform the development of policies, regulations, and management plans related to wildlife and fisheries conservation.
- Reporting: Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents to communicate findings, progress, and outcomes of conservation initiatives to stakeholders and decision-makers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Wildlife Management, Fisheries Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in wildlife and/or fisheries management, including knowledge of conservation principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and communities.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using relevant software and tools for research and monitoring.
- Familiarity with wildlife and fisheries laws, regulations, and enforcement procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to achieving conservation goals in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
- Flexibility to work in remote and challenging environments, often under adverse weather conditions, with a willingness to travel as required.
