Main Responsibilities

  • Research and Development: Conduct research on various aspects of nutrition, including dietary patterns, food security, and nutritional interventions. Develop innovative strategies to address nutrition challenges, particularly focusing on women’s nutritional needs.
  • Program Implementation: Implement nutrition programs and interventions in collaboration with community stakeholders. Design and deliver nutrition education sessions aimed at raising awareness about healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor the progress and impact of nutrition initiatives, using appropriate tools and indicators. Evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement to ensure the delivery of high-quality nutrition services.
  • Capacity Building: Build the capacity of local health workers and community members in nutrition-related topics. Provide training and technical support to enhance their knowledge and skills in promoting optimal nutrition practices.
  • Collaboration and Networking: Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and other relevant partners to coordinate efforts and leverage resources for nutrition programming. Establish and maintain effective partnerships to maximize the reach and impact of nutrition interventions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of program activities, including data collection and analysis. Prepare timely reports and presentations to communicate findings and achievements to project stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Food Science, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in nutrition programming or related fields is highly desirable. Experience in conducting research, implementing community-based interventions, and working with diverse populations will be an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical software for data analysis is essential. Knowledge of nutrition assessment tools and methodologies is preferred.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effectively engaging with community members, stakeholders, and team members. The ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment is essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights for program improvement. Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting are crucial for maintaining the quality of program documentation.
  • Commitment to Gender Equality: Demonstrated commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in nutrition programming is essential.
