As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Technician specializing in Pathology to join our SWAT team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies requiring blood products, ensuring timely delivery and proper handling.
  • Pathology Expertise: Perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses on blood samples, including blood typing, compatibility testing, and antibody screening, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results by maintaining strict adherence to quality control standards and participating in proficiency testing programs.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all tests performed, including patient information, test results, and any relevant observations, and prepare detailed reports for review by supervisory staff.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff, to coordinate patient care and facilitate effective communication.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of new developments and advances in laboratory technology and methodology, and actively participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with specific experience in pathology preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in performing a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks with precision and dexterity.
