Cristiano Ronaldo, the 39-year-old soccer icon, has launched his own YouTube channel, which quickly garnered over a million subscribers within the first 90 minutes of its debut.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, currently playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and representing Portugal internationally for over two decades, announced the launch on his social media accounts, inviting fans to “SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.”

Ronaldo posted, “The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey,” sharing his excitement with his massive fanbase.

Within just a few hours of uploading his first video, Ronaldo’s channel, titled “UR,” saw its subscriber count climb to 1.69 million. The channel promises to offer content featuring Ronaldo discussing his love for soccer, along with insights into his family life, wellness practices, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business endeavors. It will also feature engaging conversations with various guests.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Ronaldo stated, “I am very happy to make this project come to life. It has been in my mind for a long time but finally we have the opportunity to make it real. I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media, and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so. Fans will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects. I am also looking forward to sharing conversations with guests that will no doubt surprise people!”

Ronaldo is currently the most followed individual on social media, boasting a staggering 917 million followers across various platforms, including 112.5 million on X (formerly Twitter), 170 million on Facebook, and 636 million on Instagram. Although he hasn’t yet claimed the title of the most followed person on YouTube—a distinction held by MrBeast with 311 million subscribers—Ronaldo’s channel has already set a new record for the fastest climb to over a million subscribers.

As Ronaldo gets ready for Al Nassr’s Saudi Pro League opener against Al-Raed on Thursday, his new digital venture is already making waves.
