Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Research & Governance Consultancy is a leading organization dedicated to ensuring effective research and governance practices within the social welfare sector. We work towards enhancing the impact of social protection programs to alleviate poverty and empower marginalized communities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Research: Design and execute research projects aimed at evaluating the effectiveness and impact of social protection programs, particularly those related to poverty alleviation and women empowerment.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data using statistical tools and methodologies. Provide insights and recommendations based on research findings to inform policy formulation and program improvement.
  • Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop evidence-based policies and strategies that promote social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development.
  • Capacity Building: Provide technical assistance and training to BISP staff and partner organizations on research methodologies, data collection techniques, and governance best practices.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop monitoring frameworks and tools to track program performance and ensure accountability. Conduct periodic evaluations to assess the efficiency and impact of interventions.
  • Knowledge Management: Compile and disseminate research findings, best practices, and lessons learned through reports, publications, and presentations. Contribute to knowledge sharing platforms and networks to facilitate learning and collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster partnerships and collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, academia, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of social protection initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: A master’s degree or equivalent qualification in social sciences, economics, public policy, or a related field. A Ph.D. is desirable.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in research, policy analysis, and governance, preferably in the field of social protection and development. Experience working with government agencies or international organizations is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and data visualization tools.
  • Policy Knowledge: Sound understanding of social protection policies, poverty dynamics, gender issues, and development challenges in Pakistan. Knowledge of international best practices and frameworks related to social welfare and poverty reduction.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu. Ability to prepare high-quality reports, policy briefs, and presentations. Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders and facilitating workshops or training sessions.
  • Teamwork & Leadership: Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and multicultural environments. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines. Willingness to travel to project sites and engage with stakeholders at the national and provincial levels.
