Position Overview
The Urban Unit is seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our team as Short Term Survey & GIS Project Assistants. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects aimed at enhancing urban development strategies.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys to collect data on various urban parameters such as demographics, infrastructure, land use, and environmental factors.
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information System) tools to input, analyze, and visualize spatial data effectively.
- Assist in the preparation of survey reports, maps, and other project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely data collection and analysis.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
- Adhere to project timelines and quality standards to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Maintain organized records of survey data, field notes, and related documentation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in conducting surveys and working with spatial data is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work in field settings and travel as needed.
- Prior experience with urban development projects is an advantage.
