The Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) invites applications for the position of Internal Audit & Compliance Officer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct Internal Audits: Perform comprehensive internal audits of SECP’s operations, processes, and financial systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within SECP’s operations and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor adherence to regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures across various departments within SECP.
  • Audit Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to be taken by management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to address audit findings, implement corrective measures, and enhance overall compliance culture.
  • Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness among SECP staff regarding compliance standards and best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of internal audit methodologies and tools.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification such as CIA, CISA, or ACCA would be an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, or risk management, preferably in the financial services sector or regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge: Sound understanding of audit methodologies, risk management principles, and regulatory frameworks relevant to securities markets.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate audit findings clearly and effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Integrity: Demonstrated integrity and ethical conduct, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team and build positive relationships across departments.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with audit software and tools would be advantageous.
