Main Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the PRIAT project, guiding its strategic direction and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation, to ensure the timely delivery of project objectives and milestones.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster productive partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, agricultural experts, and local communities to promote collaboration and maximize project impact.
  • Capacity Building: Develop and implement capacity-building initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of project staff, partners, and beneficiaries in sustainable agricultural practices, climate resilience, and inclusive development.
  • Innovation and Learning: Drive innovation within the project, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices to enhance agricultural productivity, promote climate-smart agriculture, and improve market access for smallholder farmers.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks effectively, proactively addressing challenges to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities and the achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project reports, documentation, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Qualifications: A Master’s degree or higher in agriculture, rural development, environmental science, or a related field. Additional certifications or training in project management and leadership would be an advantage.
  • Experience: At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably in the agriculture sector or rural development context. Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale projects, managing diverse teams, and engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of agricultural development issues, including climate change adaptation, sustainable farming practices, and value chain development. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including monitoring and evaluation frameworks, is essential.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams toward achieving common goals. Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, with a keen eye for identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions. Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Proficiency in Punjabi or Urdu would be an asset.
  • Commitment to Inclusivity: Strong commitment to promoting gender equality, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability within agricultural development programs.
