Main Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure effective resource allocation and budget utilization.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures, both internally and externally.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard project assets and resources.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project teams, government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders to address financial concerns and achieve project objectives.
  • Capacity Building: Provide training and support to project staff on financial management best practices and tools.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the public sector or development projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting processes, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel and financial modeling tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound recommendations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of donor-funded projects and compliance requirements would be an advantage.
  • Commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability in financial management practices.
