The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is the apex regulatory body overseeing higher education institutions across the country. Committed to fostering excellence in education and research, HEC plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Pakistan through its initiatives and policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Policy Development: Contribute to the formulation and implementation of policies aimed at enhancing the quality and accessibility of higher education in Pakistan.
  • Program Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of educational programs and initiatives designed to improve educational standards and outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with universities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to foster partnerships and initiatives that advance the goals of the Higher Education Commission.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research, data analysis, and monitoring to assess the effectiveness of existing programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Capacity Building: Provide guidance, training, and support to educational institutions and personnel to enhance their capabilities and effectiveness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards to uphold the integrity and quality of higher education in Pakistan.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to senior management and stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Qualifications: A master’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Education, Public Policy, Administration, or a related discipline. A Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within the education sector or a related field. Experience in policy development, program management, and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of higher education policies, practices, and trends.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing projects and teams to achieve objectives.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Commitment to Excellence: A commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and quality in all aspects of work.
