The Finance Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management of financial resources within the region. We are currently seeking qualified individuals to join our team as Local Funds Auditors. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial integrity and accountability of AJK’s local funds.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough audits of local funds to ensure compliance with established financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze financial documents, transactions, and records to identify discrepancies, errors, or fraudulent activities.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to be taken.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement audit recommendations and improve financial management processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to local fund administrators on financial best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards to ensure audits are conducted in accordance with the latest guidelines.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent financial mismanagement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIA is preferred.
  • Proven experience in conducting financial audits, preferably in a governmental or public sector setting.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in auditing financial records.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding ethical standards in financial management and auditing practices.
