Main Responsibilities

  • Emergency Response Coordination: Coordinate with local, regional, and national agencies to ensure a seamless response to emergencies, including natural disasters, industrial accidents, and other crises.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and supplies, to meet the demands of emergency situations.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to reduce the impact of potential hazards on communities and infrastructure.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the preparedness and response capabilities of FERU personnel and partner organizations.
  • Public Outreach and Education: Engage with communities to raise awareness about emergency preparedness, response procedures, and safety measures.
  • Operational Support: Provide operational support during emergencies, including deployment to affected areas and coordination of relief efforts.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of incidents, response activities, and outcomes, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in debriefings and evaluations to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement in emergency response procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Disaster Management, Public Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in emergency management, disaster response, or a related field. Experience in government agencies, non-profit organizations, or international humanitarian organizations is desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in emergency response protocols, incident command systems, and risk assessment methodologies. Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and emergency communication systems is an asset.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and Urdu is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
  • Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in responding to evolving situations and changing priorities.
  • Commitment to Mission: A commitment to the mission and values of FERU, including a dedication to serving the needs of vulnerable populations and promoting resilience in the face of emergencies.
