The Directorate General Immigration & Passports (DGIP) is a vital department within the Government of Pakistan, responsible for facilitating immigration and passport services for citizens and foreigners. As a part of its ongoing operations, DGIP is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join as Director for its Part-II section.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the Part-II section, overseeing all operational and administrative aspects.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Team Management: Supervise and motivate a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legal requirements governing immigration and passport services.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of strategic plans and objectives for the department, aligning them with broader
    organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, diplomatic missions, and international organizations.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor service delivery standards and implement measures to enhance the quality and efficiency of services provided.
  • Resource Management: Manage financial and human resources effectively to achieve operational objectives within budgetary constraints.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the integrity and security of immigration and passport services.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in immigration, passport services, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of leading teams to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and information systems.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu, both written and spoken; knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
