The Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGIP) is a vital governmental institution in Pakistan responsible for the regulation of immigration and issuance of passports. As we continue to evolve and enhance our services, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our team as the Director General.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the DGIP team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures related to immigration and passport issuance in accordance with national laws and international standards.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the efficient operation of all DGIP offices nationwide, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of immigration and passport applications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive relationships with government agencies, diplomatic missions, and other stakeholders to enhance collaboration and improve service delivery.
  • Technology Integration: Identify opportunities for the integration of technology to streamline processes and improve service efficiency.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to immigration and passport issuance, with a focus on maintaining the security and integrity of the system.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual budget for the DGIP, optimizing resource allocation to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Staff Development: Foster a culture of excellence and professional development within the DGIP team, providing mentorship and support to staff members.

Job Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Law, or International Relations. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in a governmental organization related to immigration, passport issuance, or border control.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to provide visionary leadership and drive organizational change in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Policy Development: Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop and implement policies and procedures in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Technology Aptitude: Familiarity with information technology systems and the ability to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency.
  • Compliance and Security: Thorough understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks related to immigration and passport issuance, with a strong commitment to security and compliance.
  • Budget Management: Demonstrated experience in budget development and management, with the ability to optimize resource allocation to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
