The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a monumental project aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and connectivity between China and Pakistan. To support the successful implementation and management of this project, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of CPEC Project Director / CPEC Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the largest infrastructure and economic development projects in the region.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of the CPEC project, including planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, international partners, private sector entities, and local communities.
  • Coordination: Coordinate activities across various departments and agencies involved in the CPEC project to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the successful and timely completion of project milestones.
  • Financial Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and guidelines.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Capacity Building: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of project team members and stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing the CPEC project.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects. Experience in international development or bilateral cooperation projects is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team towards achieving project objectives.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Cross-Cultural Competence: Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English is essential. Proficiency in Mandarin or Urdu would be an advantage.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
