The Planning & Development Department AJK is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join the team for the AJK Child Labour Survey project. This project aims to comprehensively assess the prevalence and nature of child labour in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), with the ultimate goal of formulating effective policies and interventions to eradicate this pressing issue. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about child welfare and eager to contribute to meaningful change in society.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Coordinate all aspects of the AJK Child Labour Survey project, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Team Supervision: Oversee the work of field surveyors and data collection teams to ensure adherence to protocols and timely completion of tasks.
  • Data Collection Strategy: Develop and refine survey instruments, sampling methodologies, and data collection procedures in collaboration with project partners and stakeholders.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions for survey staff on survey protocols, ethical considerations, and data collection techniques.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of survey data.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze survey findings, prepare comprehensive reports, and present results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders to facilitate their involvement in the project and ensure buy-in for project outcomes.
  • Advocacy and Awareness: Raise awareness about child labour issues and advocate for policy changes and interventions based on survey findings.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in the context of social research or development projects.
  • Strong understanding of child rights issues, particularly related to child labour, child protection, and education.
  • Demonstrated experience in survey design, data collection, and analysis, including proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., SPSS, STATA).
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu; knowledge of local languages spoken in AJK is desirable.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards in research and safeguarding the rights and dignity of survey participants, particularly children.
