Ayub Teaching Hospital MTI Abbottabad is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Material Management Specialist to join our team. As a Material Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient procurement, distribution, and utilization of medical supplies and equipment within the hospital. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of materials, maintain optimal inventory levels, and implement cost-effective strategies to streamline the hospital’s material management processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement material management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational goals.
- Coordinate with department heads to assess their material requirements and forecast future needs.
- Source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and analyze usage patterns to prevent shortages and excess stock.
- Oversee the receiving, inspection, and storage of incoming materials, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
- Utilize inventory management software to track stock movements, generate reports, and optimize inventory turnover.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to reconcile invoices, process payments, and manage budgetary constraints.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the safety, efficacy, and compliance of medical supplies and equipment.
- Provide training and support to staff members on material management procedures and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in material management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles, procurement processes, and supply chain logistics.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
