The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed another significant milestone on Thursday as the KSE-100 index surged to a new all-time high, marking the fourth consecutive day of bullish activity. The index soared by 475 points, reaching an impressive 67,019 points. This achievement follows a recent record close on Wednesday, where the index settled at 66,547 points after a gain of 641 points.
Notably, the last time the stock exchange breached the 67,000-point mark was on December 13 of the previous year. The sustained upward trajectory indicates a robust investor sentiment and a positive outlook for the Pakistani market.
In addition to the local developments, the London Stock Exchange has affirmed the Pakistani Stock Exchange’s status as an emerging market. The FTSE has declared that this status will be upheld for the PSX for a duration of six months. Moreover, it has granted permission for inactive stock funds to recommence foreign investment.
The announcement from the FTSE also sheds light on the evolution of the Pakistani capital market, noting that its capitalization has grown from $100 billion in 2017 to $121 billion presently. This underscores the market’s resilience and potential for growth, despite fluctuations and external factors impacting its valuation.
Overall, these developments reflect positively on the Pakistani economy and its standing in the global financial landscape, signaling confidence among investors and stakeholders alike.
