Main Responsibilities
- Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure effective resource allocation and budget utilization.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures, both internally and externally.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard project assets and resources.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project teams, government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders to address financial concerns and achieve project objectives.
- Capacity Building: Provide training and support to project staff on financial management best practices and tools.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the public sector or development projects.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting processes, and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel and financial modeling tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound recommendations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of donor-funded projects and compliance requirements would be an advantage.
- Commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability in financial management practices.
