The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has announced the results of the matriculation exams, marking a significant milestone for over a quarter-million students.
Controller of Examinations Zahid Mian provided detailed insights into the outcomes, revealing that out of the 250,000 students who appeared, 174,000 successfully passed, yielding an overall pass percentage of 69.75%.

Detailed Breakdown of Results
Science Group
– 73.91% of students passed.
– The success rate among female students was notably high, with 80% of girls passing the exams.
– Male students had a pass rate of 67%.
Arts Group
– The pass rate stood at 55%.
– Female students again outperformed their male counterparts, with a 63% pass rate compared to 38% for boys.
The controller also addressed issues of cheating and malpractice. There were 267 cases of cheating identified, resulting in over 60 first information reports (FIRs) being registered.
The results reflect a significant gender disparity, with girls outperforming boys in both the science and arts groups. This trend highlights the academic achievements of female students and the continuing efforts to promote education among all demographics.
