    Iranian president Raisi wraps up three-day visit to Pakistan

    Iranian President Dr Ebrahim Raisi wrapped up a three-day visit to Pakistan on Wednesday.

    During his visit to Pakistan, the Iranian president held meetings with the leadership of the country. He also paid a visit to the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.

    Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Kamran Khan Tessori bid goodbye to President Raisi at Karachi airport.

    The Iranian president also held meetings with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

    Both countries had decided to increase the trade volume to $10 billion.

    The Iranian president underlined the importance of the historical and religious ties between the two countries. “People of both countries would like to join hands for the sake of peace and prosperity in the region,” President Raisi said.

    He said: “It is in the interest of the people of both countries to boost bilateral trade.”

    “The closer ties will also pave the way for fostering the economic relationship between the two countries,” the Iranian president maintained.

    – Sense of familiarity –

    Iranian President Dr Ebrahim Raisi said on Tuesday that he was feeling a “sense of familiarity” in Pakistan.

    The Iranian president visited the mausoleum of poet and philosopher Allama Iqbal. President Raisi was presented with a guard of honour upon his arrival at the mausoleum of Iqbal.

    On this occasion, the Iranian president received a briefing.

    President Raisi laid a wreath on Iqbal’s grave and offered fateha.

    Badshahi Masjid Khatib Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad Mosque offered prayers.

    The Iranian president acknowledged the role of Pakistan regarding the fundamental principles in connection with Gaza.

    President Raisi made it clear that there was no sense of foreignness in Pakistan.

    He expressed his resolve that ties between both the countries will further boosted with time.

    Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi acknowledged Allama Iqbal’s guidance for the Muslim world.

    Paying tribute to Iqbal, President Raisi also registered his comments in the visitors’ book.
