Main Responsibilities
- Medical Assistance: Provide medical assistance and care to pilgrims, including first aid, basic medical treatments, and referrals to specialized services when necessary.
- Dispensing Medications: Dispense prescribed medications to pilgrims according to their medical needs and ensure accurate record-keeping of all medications dispensed.
- Health Education: Conduct health education sessions for pilgrims to promote preventive health measures, hygiene practices, and awareness about common health issues during Hajj.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, coordinate with emergency services if required, and ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims at all times.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, to deliver comprehensive healthcare services and support the overall functioning of the Hajj Dispensary.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all medical consultations, treatments provided, medications dispensed, and any relevant medical information pertaining to pilgrims.
Job Requirements
- Medical Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Registration with the relevant medical council is mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience in emergency medicine, primary healthcare, or public health is preferred. Experience in a similar role during Hajj or other mass gatherings will be an advantage.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Arabic and English languages is essential for effective communication with pilgrims from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and cultural sensitivity are crucial for building rapport with pilgrims and providing compassionate care.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing circumstances, and remain calm under pressure.
