The Integrated Flood Resilient Adaptation Project (IFRAP) is seeking qualified candidates to join its Field Project Management Unit (FPMU) for the Post-Flood Reconstruction Program 2022. As a member of the FPMU, you will play a crucial role in the implementation and management of projects aimed at enhancing flood resilience and facilitating the reconstruction process in affected areas.
Main Responsibilities
- Project Implementation: Oversee the implementation of post-flood reconstruction projects in accordance with project plans, timelines, and budgetary allocations.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with local communities, government authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and collaboration in project activities.
- Field Supervision: Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, assess challenges, and provide technical guidance to field staff.
- Budget Management: Manage project budgets, including tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the smooth execution of project activities.
- Capacity Building: Provide training and capacity-building support to project staff and local partners to enhance their skills and knowledge in flood resilience and reconstruction techniques.
- Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate progress reports, including narrative updates and financial documentation, for submission to project management and donors.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that project activities adhere to relevant quality standards, codes of conduct, and best practices in disaster resilience and reconstruction.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Disaster Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in post-disaster reconstruction or resilience-building projects.
- Proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects and coordinating with government agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
- Strong technical skills in infrastructure development, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and build consensus.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, including Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment, with a high level of resilience and adaptability.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
