Main Responsibilities
- Teaching and Academic Development: Delivering high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Developing and implementing innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Research and Scholarly Activities: Engaging in cutting-edge research projects in collaboration with other faculty members and external partners. Publishing research findings in reputable academic journals and presenting at national and international conferences.
- Curriculum Development: Contributing to the design, review, and enhancement of the medical curriculum to ensure alignment with global standards and emerging trends in healthcare education.
- Student Mentorship: Providing academic and career guidance to students, fostering their personal and professional development. Serving as a mentor and advisor to medical students throughout their academic journey.
- Administrative Duties: Undertaking administrative responsibilities as assigned by the department chair or college administration. Participating in faculty meetings, committees, and other institutional activities to support the overall mission of the college.
Job Requirements
- Education: A doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field of medicine, healthcare, or biomedical sciences from a recognized institution. Postgraduate medical qualifications (e.g., FCPS, MRCP, FRCS) are highly desirable.
- Teaching Experience: Previous experience in teaching medical students at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging and effective lectures, facilitate small group discussions, and assess student performance.
- Research Track Record: Proven track record of research productivity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and participation in research projects. Experience in securing research grants and conducting interdisciplinary research is advantageous.
- Clinical Expertise: Clinical experience and expertise in a specific medical specialty or subspecialty are preferred. Board certification or equivalent credentials in the respective specialty area are an asset.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Strong collaborative spirit and willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
