Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali addressed the ongoing debate over India’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, set to be held in Pakistan.
Speaking on Samaa Digital’s show “Zor Ka Zor,” Ali supported the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s stance, emphasizing that the tournament should proceed as planned, regardless of India’s involvement.
Ali expressed confidence in the event’s success, stating that cricket will continue with or without India’s participation. “If we can travel and participate despite security concerns, then the Indian team should also be able to come,” he said.
He also hinted that Indian players might be keen to play in Pakistan, but their participation depends on decisions by the Indian government and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The fast bowler highlighted PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s firm position, affirming that the Champions Trophy 2025 will indeed be hosted in Pakistan. “If India chooses not to come, that’s their decision,” Ali added.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has reiterated its reluctance to send the Indian team to Pakistan, citing government restrictions as the primary obstacle. Indian officials have suggested a hybrid model or a neutral venue as alternative solutions to facilitate the tournament.
