The federal government has allowed the country’s top spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), to tap telephones in view of national security and to avert any crime. A notification has also been issued. According to the notification, ISI has been authorized to record phone calls under Section 54 of the Pakistan Telecommunication Act 1996.
