Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley recently expressed the organization’s eagerness to facilitate cricket matches between India and Pakistan, highlighting the importance of fostering relationships with all member states. Speaking at the Pak India Fans event at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Hockley emphasized CA’s willingness to host both Pakistan and India for cricket series.
He stated that CA values its relationships with all cricket-playing nations and is enthusiastic about hosting Pakistan once again, as well as welcoming India for matches. Hockley expressed a desire to contribute to facilitating India-Pakistan cricket encounters, suggesting the possibility of a reciprocal series.
While acknowledging the complexity of scheduling amidst a busy cricket calendar, Hockley emphasized CA’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote cricket between India and Pakistan. He also mentioned the excitement surrounding the upcoming Pakistan-Australia white-ball series scheduled for November 2024, which will feature three ODIs and three T20Is across six venues in Australia.
Highlighting Pakistan’s previous tour to Australia for the Benaud-Qadir Trophy in December 2023-January 2024, Hockley noted the upcoming series as an opportunity for Pakistan to return to Australian shores after an 11-month gap. The series will commence with the first ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 4, followed by matches in Adelaide and Perth.
