In Balochistan, security forces have successfully thwarted plans to establish a terrorist operational base through a collaboration between TTP and BLA’s Majeed Brigade. Nasrullah, alias Maulvi Mansoor, a purported senior commander of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), was apprehended during a challenging operation.
Balochistan’s Home Minister, Mir Zia Langove, praised the operation as a major success, highlighting the effectiveness of intelligence and law enforcement agencies in countering terrorist activities.
During a press briefing, Mir Langove emphasized the significance of Nasrullah’s capture and that of another key commander, Idris. Nasrullah confessed to his involvement in numerous attacks on Pakistani security forces and provided crucial details about TTP’s structure and operations.
He revealed connections between TTP and BLA Majeed Brigade, allegedly influenced by India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), aiming to establish a joint center in Afghanistan’s Khuzdar. Their objectives included destabilizing Pakistan, targeting the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and conducting abductions for ransom.
Nasrullah also disclosed his history with TTP and previous subversive activities, including attacks on Pakistani military posts. At the time of his arrest, he held a leadership role in TTP’s Defense Commission, overseeing administrative and financial affairs centrally.
He further alleged that TTP leaders like Noor Wali Mehsud and BLA’s Bashir Zeb operated freely from Afghanistan, with support from elements within the interim Afghan government. He accused these groups of exploiting Afghan territory to launch attacks against Pakistan, facilitated by protection in Afghanistan.
Nasrullah’s revelations suggested close ties between TTP, BLA, and Indian intelligence agencies, alleging meetings between Noor Wali, Bashir Zeb, and Indian officials at the Indian embassy in Kabul. He also claimed internal disagreements within BLA regarding operations in Balochistan.
Overall, Nasrullah’s capture provided critical insights into cross-border terrorism and underscored ongoing security challenges in the region.
