PTI leader Omar Ayub, addressing media persons, announced that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to challenge the verdict in the iddat nikah case, which was announced by the Islamabad District and Sessions Court.
Ayub stated that there was no technical issue in the iddat nikah case but alleged that it was handled politically. Kanwal Shauzab added that Bushra Bibi was unfairly implicated in the case.
Ayub highlighted that the court did not approve the request for suspension of the sentence in the iddat case. “Justice was required in this straightforward case between a husband and wife,” he said.
He confirmed that PTI will immediately challenge the court’s decision in the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Ayub also accused Shehbaz Sharif of becoming prime minister through the ECP’s Form-47, claiming he was exposed in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Ayub demanded the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, and other prisoners. “Our (PTI) movement will gain momentum,” he asserted to the media in Islamabad.
The Islamabad District and Sessions Court has rejected the appeals of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi against their conviction in the iddat nikah case. District and Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka announced the reserved decision on Thursday, rejecting the appeals for suspension of their sentences. As a result, the couple’s sentences remain in effect, and PTI has announced plans to challenge this decision in the Islamabad High Court immediately.
