Position Overview
NTDC is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the position of Managing Director (MD). The MD will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational direction to NTDC, ensuring its continued growth, efficiency, and sustainability.
Main Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to achieve NTDC’s goals and objectives.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee all operational activities, including transmission network management, dispatch operations, and maintenance.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, power producers, and distribution companies.
- Financial Management: Manage NTDC’s financial resources effectively, ensuring budgetary control and financial sustainability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards governing the power sector.
- Human Resource Management: Provide leadership and guidance to NTDC’s workforce, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and innovation.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and strategic risks to safeguard NTDC’s interests.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate NTDC’s performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Strategic Partnerships: Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership with other organizations to enhance NTDC’s capabilities and effectiveness.
- Public Relations: Represent NTDC in public forums, conferences, and industry events, promoting its interests and achievements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree would be preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the power sector, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Strong understanding of transmission and dispatch operations, power system planning, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record of strategic leadership, organizational development, and change management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Sound financial acumen and experience in budgetary management and financial analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct.
- Flexibility to travel and work extended hours as required.
