Position Overview
NBP is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Control Specialist to join our team in Karachi. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting processes, supporting the Bank’s strategic objectives, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, trends, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and support strategic decision-making.
- Internal Controls: Develop and implement robust internal control procedures to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support planning and resource allocation activities.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, provide requested documentation, and address audit findings in a timely manner.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance financial processes, systems, and controls to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and banking laws to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, analysis, or auditing, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal control standards (e.g., IFRS, SBP regulations).
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SAP), and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
